Re: Karanveer's Sketchbook

@WSLafleur - Thank you :) Here's a sheet of studies I did today. I built a human body mannequin first establishing proper proportions - then I went online and found pictures of armor which I then drew on my mannequins. This is a better exercise than just drawing the photo reference because here you'...

Re: Karanveer's Sketchbook

Sketches from abstract brushstrokes/textures. These I just started doing recently, where I set myself a time limit of 25 mins and try to assemble a "frame" or a sketch out of random abstract brush strokes in photoshop.

Some good stuff in here. Really liking your sketches, Thor.

Did a lineup of silhouettes. Trying to see what I can come up with.

This challenge is great.

I started doing some research and came upon this website which is really awesome. It's got really high res screenshots of films from beginning to end.

Re: chubbycat learns how to art

I love how clean and articulate your drawings are! Also, quick question, do you still use the ball construction when drawing the head from imagination after drawing it from reference? I get the feel that you are straightaway drawing the contours of the head which tends to lock you in with your decis...

How about a challenge where you design a spacesuit for a hostile planet environment.

Like, a suit for a planet with extreme heat or cold or wind etc.

Re: How many hours of practice?

I think its less about how much total time you spend practicing and more about the practicing well even if you practice for 3-4 hours. I try to get done at least 2-3 hours of practice in a day. I know it should be more but I'm increasing that time in small increments. Here's a great article I found ...

Re: Art Posse Study/Accountability Buddies!

I really like the idea of accountability. I feel I've been paying too much attention to my schoolwork and not to my own studies/projects more in line with concept art skills. I'm currently working through Michael Hampton's Figure Drawing book while doing gestures and figure construction. Mainly focu...

Here's a torso study I did just now. I did the sketch in Sketchbook pro but couldn't figure out how to render it at all in that program. I ended up rendering it in photoshop.

Karanveer's Sketchbook

Hello and welcome to my sketchbook. I'm new to digital art although I am able to draw and paint well traditionally. I'm attending a local art school which isn't very big or expensive but it has some good instructors and a place to work.

Anyway, here's some of my recent work.

Hi, just joined

My name is Karanveer. I'm 23 and I'm studying art at a local college in New jersey. I love drawing and painting. Have dabbled in digital art but I still have to get used to it. I found Sam White's stream on twitch and he talked about this website. I'm very excited to become a part of this community ...
