theLittlePaint_ Sketchbook & Practice

Unread postby thelittlepaint_ » Fri Feb 23, 2018 2:03 pm

Hi everyone! New to the forums and wanted to start sharing my progress back into painting and illustrations. I particularly enjoy different styles of digital art but I've also been trying to improve on digital painting in general. This thread will mostly be filled with practice work, master studies and illustrations as I progress. Hope you enjoy! Constructive criticism always welcomed. <3

Thank you! It's a slow process since I'm also trying to get my animation Demo Reel together. ;) I will be finishing this one this week though.

Finished this piece finally! ;) Side by side comparison of my recreation/practice and the original on the right. Any critique or suggestions is very welcomed. Learned so much in doing this one. Value studies are a lot of fun.

This came out great!

No huge crit, but If I had to say one thing I woulds say I think you might have exaggerated some of the value changes, and that your brightest bright on the skin might be a hair too bright.

Otherwise quite nice results!

Ooh yea I can totally see that being the case. Thank you for noticing. I struggled with still keeping some of the contrast and balancing the value of the original with how pixelated it looks. I was wary of how it could look muddy.

I'm here I promise. ;P Been super busy trying to get some shots done for a demo reel but in-between animations also continue work on this Master Study. Still a bit to go but coming along a lot nicer now. Will post a better quality image when finished. :D
