Heyo. It's been good dropping in on your streams and seeing it all come together!

I think of all the pieces you have posted I'm most interested in the last one that is just blocked in with greyscale. I'm pretty sure its because of the distortion/perspective. I'd love to see more pieces like this but having even more distortion with more foreshortening. BUT, you are not me, so feel free to do whatever you'd like! haha

As for anatomy, I'm only going to talk about anatomy in the face (because that's the only anatomy I really know to some decent extent) and what I'd improve on if I were you. I'd study up on understanding the more subtle anatomy in the face to try and understand the suturing that happens with the muscles. I say this because your portraits feel very mechanical with just the basic surface anatomy. I can see that you have an understanding of the basic construction of the skeleton and surface anatomy of the face but it feels like the parts don't relate to one another and I think showing those parts that pull it together, and playing it up with proper values, will boost the impact of your work.

As for everything else, I don't know what to say because you are ahead of me in skill. That's what I get for only focusing on portraiture for 2 years straight. haha... -.- All's well though! :D

@Jmob: It's funny, another friend of mine recommended pushing the foreshortening as well. So I did a little bit more :) Also, thanks for the advice on my faces, it pushed me to do some studies and explore facial structure a little bit more. I will probably play around with muscles of the face as well.

Here is what I have to show for today! At least the interesting stuff :P

Nice, keep at it with the face anatomy!

On the last painting, I just realized something that looks off with the construction. His right hip that is attactched to the leg that is coming at the viewer looks dislocated or something. It looks like he has no hip or gluteus.

Keep it up Forrest!

@Kastrum: Thanks! :)

@Jmob: Hey thanks! I tried sort of adjusting it in the latest version, does it look any better?

Here is some stuff from the last couple of days, various studies, an experiment with photos that I hate, and more work on the character I've been doing. Going for a little cleaner cut than I'm used to and it's kind of weirding me out haha

Nice man, keep at it!

For that leg section, I think the problem is that it's just in the block in stage and that we can't see any minor forms overlapping to show depth. So, yeah man, keep slaving away on that piece no matter what! AT ALL COSTS. ... >.> Maybe not. but really, finish it. :D

@Jmob: Yeah maybe, I'll probably do a rough sketch of the skeleton underneath. Even if it's slightly off I'm cool with it if it helps exaggerate that leg outwards like that. But it's probably just an easy fix.

So, not much for today, I did more work on both the illustrations I'm working on. I realized I haven't shown my other one on here so I'll post that one up instead of the one I have been. And there's a little quick doodle to relax and a study as well.

So nothing major over the last couple days. I'm going to dedicate this Monday to a hardcore study day to push myself more and try and get a lot done. For now, here is a quick hair study for the horned lady illustration and the final Smite fan art of Loki (This is what took up the majority of my time >( )

Man, your stuff is amazing! All the details and textures on the Loki one are just mind-blowing. Keep up the great work, can't wait to see more of your art!

Love your studies too, your little notes are actually really great and helpful. :)

@ramalooke: Hey thanks so much :D

@Axe: Thanks! Yeah the detail on Loki took foreeeeeveeeeeer, but I like the outcome. And I totally recommend taking notes on studies. It's made a huge positive impact on my art.

@pbesteves: Thank you! :)

Thanks for all the positivity guys! Well, I said Monday would be my big study day and I meant it, so here is everything I got done today as well as another finished illustration that I posted up on my various social networking places earlier today. Please, any critiques are welcome, I may not apply the critiques to the image that they are meant for, but it's always good to hear things I may miss or slip up on.

That's a nice amount of study !
I know you already started working on it, but I prefer pose 3, because the other 2 are more common. That probably sells them well, but I personally like all the unusual stuff, just a thought :D But even with pose 1 you could put those pillars around the character, making hem huge, coming from the deep, because using them in the surroundings on pose 3 really gives the ancient goddess feeling, and also would be a less common composition <:

@Jek: I love you too buddy <3

@Carl: Hey thanks! :)

@goldentiger: Hey! Thanks for the advice, I already started going with thumbnail 1, but only because thumbnail 3 seemed too similar to the Loki image with how the pose and perspective was set up. I did move the pillars further up though in the piece, I agree with you on making the pillars a little taller :) Thanks again!

@thor6136: Thank you :)

@Metatabi: Thank you very much!

Alright, so not much to post this time. I forgot to post that final demon lady illustration I finished, but other than that I have another Freya update and some doodles which includes a girl with shitty disproportionate arms!

Oh wow, so much Great stuff Forrrest. I love it.

I've also allowed myself to do a small overpaint over your new image. I though the composition was a bit off and fire was competing with the character. Hope you don't mind. Side of that, yeah, great work!

Nice paint over for the comp. very helpful I bet. Nice job too Forrest! Keep it up. Gogo. Making progress. One thing though... She has wings but she is only a foot off the ground. I don't understand that. I think something more reasonable can be made the background.
